The European Halal Certification Institute (Ger.: EHZ) is a non-profit organization sponsored by the Islamic Community Millî Görüş (IGMG)
The EHZ advises the food industry, tests its products and production systems and certifies them accordingly, if they meet the halal-guidelines set by the EHZ’s Academic Council.
The EHZ offers a system for companies according to which their products are checked for conformity with the Islamic halal-guidelines. The test reports are submitted to the EHZ’s Academic Council. Their consent is necessary for a certificate to be issued. The EHZ halal logo on products represents tested halal quality, which ensures safety and credibility for consumers.
The EHZ does not only certify food, but also textiles,
chemicals, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
